Today we’re looking back on Connie + Chris’s wedding featured on Brides! We knew the very first moment we heard that Connie was the owner of Moderne Press that we were going to have so much fun creating something beautiful for her and Chris. One look at her blog had us swooning and inspired! Keeping in mind our bride’s love for modern design, we teamed up with Twigg Botanicals to create a sleek, romantic ambiance with metallics and soft touches of blush. Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla, CA provided the perfect coastal setting, highlighting the city in which the couple first fell in love while students at University of California, San Diego. With a rose gold color palette, we played with roman numeral decor and an “X” motif to allude to our couple’s 10-year anniversary of being together. We wish Connie + Chris many more years of love and great style as they start off their second decade together as newlyweds!
We’re in love with the hand-drawn map on these gold foil letter-pressed invitations by Laura Su!
We love the pockets on Connie’s simple a-line gown from J. Crew and her Swarovski belt from Prismera design.
As a nod to Connie’s obsession with designer shoes, we displayed the escort cards on a vintage shoe rack complete with the couple’s prettiest pairs, with a sign from Angelique Ink reading “You can never have too many good shoes or good friends.” Ain’t that the truth?
The cake, baked by the deliciously awesome Hey There Cupcake, tied in our “X” theme with roman numerals of our Connie + Chris’s wedding date.
The couple thanked their guests with gold foil-wrapped chocolate bars displayed with a vintage scale and a banner reading, “Your love is worth its weight in gold.” We couldn’t agree more and know that Connie + Chris have transitioned into marriage with the same beautiful balance and harmony they’ve achieved with in their steadfast relationship. Many thanks to Jill Thomas Photography for endless talent and capturing the day.
