When our dear Carlie and Nate’s wedding hit newsstands last week in the national Knot magazine as one of the top weddings of 2015, we knew we absolutely had to share the rest of the photos with you from Brandon Kidd! Their Big Sur wedding is most definitely one of our favorites. 🙂

When they were first dating, Carlie and Nate took a road-trip from San Diego to Big Sur, where they fell in love amidst the beauty of the central coast. Once they were engaged and it came time to picking the location for their wedding, they wanted to recreate the beauty of that magical place, so we thought why not bring Big Sur to L’Auberge in Del Mar!

Their color palette was made up of ivory, creams, burgundy, maroon oxblood, rich teal, and deep forest green. We brought in lofty pines and evergreens to completely transform the rooftop terrace into a forest wonderland. Lush florals from Oak and the Owl held touches of red and burgundy, and ornate Casa de Perrin chargers paired with blue and green toned glassware from Hostess Haven tied in the woods and teals of the coastal landscape.

As guests entered the reception space they were greeted by an escort backdrop complete with gold tailor scissors as favors and fabric that read “Cut from the same cloth”, as a nod to a sweet saying about the couple coined by friends and family. Guests also wrote well wishes and love on a quilt for the newlyweds to keep for years to come and cuddle in on those cozy nights at home.

A dessert backdrop from Backup Backdrops was fitted with marquee lights reading California love, and a beautiful cake by Hey There Cupcake adorned a wonderful cake display filled with decadent cakes from Extraordinary Desserts. Guests were able to take slices home in cute to-go boxes designed by Peanut Press Creative. At the end of the night, we sent off the couple with glittering sparklers, and to this day we can’t stop reminiscing about their beautiful day!
