Happy Friday everyone! What a whirlwind of a week it has been! Heather and the team are preparing for a weekend of back-to-back weddings, and we are especially missing our main gal, Lisa Petersen, while she is on maternity leave. She had her beautiful baby boy on the morning of April 21st, and we could not be more ecstatic for their family! We can hardly wait to meet little Zanden. Lisa’s gorgeous maternity shoot is up on Inspired By This today, and we hope you enjoy the breathtaking photos by Jen from Fondly Forever!

From Lisa: “Benny and I met when we were 18 years old, at the beginning of freshman year in college at the University of San Diego. We have been pretty inseparable ever since and got married the summer we graduated from USD. It’s crazy to me that six years have gone by since we first said “I love you” and now we have just welcomed our son into the world!

We are so excited to share our boho styled maternity shoot with you featured on Inspired By This and are so grateful to our lovely team of wedding industry friends who came together to help us capture this special time.

During my pregnancy I tried to avoid buying tons of maternity clothes – it’s just so hard to find cute pregnancy wear that doesn’t break the bank! While shopping for the shoot, I stumbled upon two perfect Free People dresses that served me well during my pregnancy and are still totally wearable postpartum which I love. I then conceptualized the shoot around the boho style of the dresses, using props we currently have in our home such as the Anthropologie pillows, deer antlers, Moroccan rug, sheepskin, Freshly Picked baby moccasins and hand painted stools.

We started the day with some pampering by the always incredible Beauty by Melina, who somehow managed to make me feel glamorous even at almost 8 months pregnant! She is one of our very favorite go-to artists for our Amorology brides, so it was a no-brainer to trust her with my own hair and makeup. Then we headed to Oak Canyon Nature Center to set up and begin shooting with Jen from Fondly Forever, who worked her magic in both film and digital to perfectly capture our first pregnancy (not to mention the stunning lighting)! And Carla Kayes knocked it out of the park with her dreamy floral wreath, loose bouquet and ombre ribbon backdrop. She even made an adorable moon and stars garland to match our starry night nursery theme.

With the dream-team behind us, Benny and I were able to sincerely enjoy the moment as we focused on the nearing arrival of our baby boy, Zanden. Because I was adopted at birth, Zanden is the first member of my family to whom I am blood related! He and his daddy are the most precious gifts I have ever received and my greatest hope is that he would always know how deeply loved he is.”
