It’s always amazing when mutual friends bring two people who are meant for each other together. Our couple Renee and Jeff first met at a friend’s house and fell in love shortly after. For a couple who love to see the world and take on new adventures together, we couldn’t wait for them to see what we had in store for their wedding day! Inspired by their love of classic and bohemian elements, along with the fun fact that Jeff proposed to Renee in beautiful Tulum, Mexico – we wanted to recreate that lush vibe and romantic feeling for their family and friends at the San Diego Botanic Gardens.
Renee and Jeff went from engaged to married under an altar complete with an eclectic assortment of lanterns, macramé, and bougainvillea. Once the ceremony was complete, guests made their way to the reception space where they first were asked to “leave an impression” for the couple with a pressed flower and some words of love in a beautifully bound leather book. As guests sipped on a Tortuga Tonic or a Spicy Lady they were escorted to their seats by finding their names on terracotta tiles calligraphed by Betlem Calligraphy.
For the reception space, we mixed farm table and rounds covered in bohemian-inspired linens by La Tavola. The floral arrangements designed by The Dainty Lion, helped to carry our bride’s favorite color palette of muted tones such as beige and latte – with just the right pop of color throughout. Dahlias, garden roses, poppies, accented with bits of eucalyptus in vintage brass and gold vases helped to recreate the colors and whimsical elements found throughout Tulum. We collaborated with Hostess Haven on all the pretty tabletop, from gold flatware to amate paper table runners that helped set the tone. When it came time for dessert, Renee and Jeff turned to a local favorite, VG Donuts, for cake and donut deliciousness!
